PharmOnline is the first pharmacist-led telehealth service in Australia. PharmOnline aims to provide 24/7 remote access to medicines information pharmacists to conduct healthcare planning and achieve better health outcomes via secure video consultations at home. PharmOnline offers expert medication reviews, home medicine cabinet audits, on-call private consultations, treatment advice and integrated care with other health professionals. PharmOnline provides reassurance and confidence to their clients using holistic medication management strategies. When asked what inspired Anna to start PharmOnline, her response was:

My vision is to put a pharmacist in every household in the country, 24 hours a day, whenever people need help. I founded PharmOnline along with my pharmacist owner husband in late 2020 in response to the rolling Covid-19 lockdowns, to connect people with experienced pharmacists to discuss their medication. It became clear that Australians were unable or unwilling to travel to their community pharmacy or other health services due to anxiety about infection control.

With the explosion of telehealth in other professions, the need for instant, reliable health advice from the medication experts became essential to avoid harm. I am passionate about improving the health of all Australians through education, advice and advocacy in her role as a medication expert. The PharmOnline service is used by new parents and people managing chronic diseases/disability and through our partner organisations.

Anna’s vision is to put a pharmacist into every household in the country, 24 hours a day, whenever people need help. Anna founded PharmOnline, an online advisory video telehealth service, to connect isolated people with experienced pharmacists to discuss their health goals and medication. She is passionate about improving the health of all Australians through education, advice and advocacy in her role as a medication expert.

There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Anna explains, “You become very time-efficient and learn to block out your calendar for important events. It is an incredible privilege to be able to enjoy your children as you build a legacy.”

It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Anna Barwick gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise. ”Don’t be afraid to ask other successful business owners questions about issues you need help with. They are often very willing to share and can connect you with other people that will make your business thrive.”
